South Florida is known for its abundant sunshine as well as its intense afternoon rainstorms during the summer months. Put these two weather conditions together with close proximity to the equator, and rooftops can definitely take a beating from Mother Nature.

Kids need the right environment to do their best in school. Many different strategies and styles have been tried over the years but one thing that is clearly not conducive to learning (or much else, for that matter) is a leaking roof.

When Flowchem decided to expand and upgrade its plant in 2017, they needed a proven contractor they could trust to insulate three stainless steel (SS) product tanks and one plastic water tank at their home base — all while matching the exterior appearance to other white tanks at the facility.

The skinny dimensions of the 150-foot (45.7 m) tall, 12-foot (3.7 m) diameter smokestack, however, posed unique challenges from the standpoint of both access and aesthetics. Fortunately for the client, one creative coatings contractor was ready to pencil in solutions.

The client was converting an old warehouse into a facility that needed to be Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved. It took a five-person crew and a slew of materials, but PennCoat played its part to help that come to life.

When Dixie Safe and Lock Inc. in Houston realized their 25-year-old corrugated metal roof was beginning to rust and leak into their building, they felt anything but secure.

With that rebranding came a name change on the stadium itself. The roof of the stadium needed two logos with the famous Hard Rock font and circle behind — each to be about 16,000 square feet (1,486.4 m²) — and they needed a superstar crew to complete the transformation.

Just in time for the holiday season, the Best Buy in Rockford, Illinois, found itself with a most unpleasant development: a leaky roof. With shoppers ready to hit the store, these leaks threatened to send potential customers running for cover.

It’s “raining on the inside” is never a phrase you want to hear (unless you’re an Amy Grant fan). But that was the message coming from an owner, who wishes to remain unnamed. Under two steep-slope roofs in Louisville, Kentucky, condensation was raining down on the warehouse below.

“The accident happened late in the evening, and they were trying to make sure guests were unaware of what happened, so we had to try to get everything put together as quickly as possible,” Dumas said. “The damage was pretty extensive, and everything had to get cleaned up pretty quickly because they had guests that were there.”
