Roof Coatings Equipment

Silicones are high performance UV resistant coatings that are very high solids, often 100% solids. What does that mean to the contractor? It requires more energy to move, pump, and spray. The tried and true way to handle silicones is to use a pressure feedsystem as illustrated to the right. A drum pump is used feed silicone to the inlet of the coatings sprayer. To maintain proper spray pressure at the gun, largerdiameter and shorter length hoses are used compared to acrylic roof coatings. Silicones are incompatible with other coatings, so we recommend that you keep your silicone equipment dedicated and separate.
