From June 10-13, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) is hosting its 2024 Annual Conference & Exposition (ACE 24) in Anaheim, Calif., at the Anaheim Convention Center.
This event is cohosted by AWWA’s California-Nevada Section and aims to showcase innovative strategies, smart technologies, and exciting programs addressing critical issues for the protection of water resources.
According to AWWA, the show is expected to host over 10,300 attendees from more than 90 countries, along with approximately 800 utilities and 450 exhibitors. There will be 440 premier presenters and six competitions.
Exhibit Hall Features
The Exhibit Hall is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Conference Themes
Educational sessions will be held at ACE 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday; from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday; and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Specialized events include a Water Industry Luncheon at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday; the Exhibit Hall Social Hour at 4:30 p.m. on the same day; and an International Reception and Emerging Leaders Reception, which start at 5:30 and 6:00 p.m., respectively.
Finally, the event’s Wrap Party takes place from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Educational tracks include Advances in Water Treatment; Research; Infrastructure Management; Distribution System Operation and Management; A Focus on PFAS; Intelligent Water; Capital Improvement Projects: Design, Construction, and Delivery; The Latest on Lead and Copper; Regulatory and Legislative Actions; Small System Management; Legal, Financial, and Management; Water Use Efficiency Practices; Challenges and Solutions Found in California and Nevada; Water Resources Planning, Protection, and Management; Potable Reuse; Water Quality Challenges; Water Utility Management; Transforming the Water Workforce; and the Poster Session.

ACE 24 Presentations
At the Poster Session, one presentation worth checking out could be “Recent Advances in Water-based Coatings and Their Impact on Infrastructure Protection and Sustainability Goals.” It is being presented by Tnemec’s Brian Cheshire at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday (#3288, Exhibit Hall).
Meanwhile, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Room 202AB, a series of presentations will be delivered regarding “Current Research on Pipe Joints and Pipe Liners.”
On that same day, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Room 204AB, presentations on “Getting Prepared for the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements” will be delivered. Those presentations will dive into newly proposed rules from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
