CoatingsPro Magazine will recognize industry excellence in the application of commercial and industrial high-performance coatings with a special ceremony for its third annual Contractor Awards Program.
The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 27, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Corrosive Chronicles theater in the Music City Center, where the CORROSION 2019 conference takes place. CoatingsPro Editor-in-Chief Stephanie Chizik will formally announce the winners and present trophies and plaques to recipients in attendance.

Awards Program Details
The annual program is for commercial and industrial coatings contractors with projects awarded in the categories of commercial concrete, commercial roof, industrial concrete, industrial steel, specialty project, and contractor/crew MVP (most valuable player). The MVP award is for a team or crew member deserving of special recognition for any outstanding accomplishment on the jobsite, such as an exemplary team contribution, safety performance, or communication practices.
For a list of previous Contractor Award winners, please click here for 2017 and here for 2018. Nominated projects for the 2019 awards were completed between November 2017 and November 2018 and were judged by the CoatingsPro Editorial Advisory Group, comprised of industry experts.

Other Coatings Events at CORROSION 2019

This year, NACE International, CoatingsPro Magazine, INSPECT This, and Master Painters Institute are unveiling the first-ever Protective Coatings Workshop at CORROSION 2019’s Exhibit Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday.
This interactive workshop, designed for those working in or interested in learning more about coatings, will feature presentations from coatings industry leaders, an introduction to new emerging technologies, and highlight the experience plus accomplishments of those currently involved in the coatings field. Attendees will be able to network with other contractors, inspectors, suppliers, and instructors from NACE’s Coating Inspector Program.
Individual learning sessions at the workshop include “Coatings in their Environments,” presented Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. by Steven Reinstadtler of Covestro; “Coatings Specifications,” from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. by Chuck Fite of Sherwin-Williams; “Coatings Performance,” from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. by Tom Higginbotham of PPG; and “The Development of Steel Surface Preparation Technology,” from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. by Ken Rossy of HoldTight.
Wednesday's sessions include “Bridge Structures,” from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. by IUPAT's Anton Ruesing; “Residual Soluble Salts and Coatings Performance,” from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. by Gil Rogers of Rogers & Associates and Carboline’s Mario Moreno; and “Robotics and the Future of Coatings,” presented from 11:30 a.m. until noon by Jim Gooden of BlastOne.
The Exhibit Hall will be open on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon. New to the Exhibit Hall floor this year is The Coatings Experience area, which will introduce those interested in coatings to the ins and outs of application, surface preparation, inspection plans, and coatings in a fun and interactive way.
