Coatings for Industry, Inc. (CFI) recently introduced WearCOAT 3015 as a new water-based, aliphatic urethane topcoat for commercial and light industrial floors.

Created by a research and development (R&D) staff of chemists and metallurgists, the 3015 topcoat is the latest in a long line of products by CFI — which has formulated coatings for industrial, commercial, and aerospace applications worldwide for nearly 50 years.

Technical Properties

With properties allowing for quick returns to service, the versatile coating features high ultraviolet (UV) stability for color retention without yellowing. In turn, this allows the topcoat to be used in both indoor and outdoor applications.

The coating also resists abrasion from foot and light-wheeled traffic, making it ideal for a variety of applications such as office, restroom, retail, and other commercial uses.

For projects needing increased abrasion and chemical resistance, a 3015 hardener additive is available, according to the company.

Availability Options

When used as part of one of CFI’s Thin Film or MicroTech Flake floor coating systems, the 3015 topcoat helps provide a durable, color-stable surface that maintains an attractive look over time. It is available in clear or pigmented formulations in either satin or gloss finishes.

The coating’s low-odor formula allows for versatile application, even in occupied buildings.

WearCOAT 3015 is available in 1-gallon (3.8 L) and 5-gallon (18.9 L) containers in clear gloss or satin finishes, or in any CFI standard color. Custom-color matching is also available.
